Thank you for helping your child prepare for this cultural experience! As part of our experience, we will be practicing appropriate public transit, museum, and symphony etiquette and attire. We have talked about the appropriate semi-formal attire for the symphony. Here are a few examples, but basically it’s something you would wear to a wedding, funeral, or church like dress pants, button up shirt/polo shirt, skirt/dress, dress shoes, etc. For our visit to the museum and symphony, please remind your child that appropriate etiquette is to not touch art or exhibits and to make sure that we walk, not run. We have gone over these rules in detail, but it never hurts to have the same conversation at home. You can also review the safety rules for public transit by watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsFSG3vs21c or remember these key points we discussed in class:

AuthorKumu Jess is a world traveler and has loved being a teacher for 15 years. Her favorite food is sushi, as her favorite place she has traveled to is Japan. There she was able to make the pilgrimage to summit Mt. Fuji. When she's not teaching or traveling, she loves to go on adventures with her one year old labradoodle, Charly (Charly is a girl), hiking, roller skating (she just started to learn to roller dance), fishing, playing games, or spending time with friends and family.
